Job description

Fife Council are seeking a full time Associated Services Supervisor to work as a Telecare Coordindator on a full time, permanent basis. The post will be based in Rothesay House, Glenrothes with a working pattern of Monday-Friday 0848-1700, though additional shifts may be required to cover the needs of the service.

Duties

The purpose of this role is to manage Telecare Referrals received within the service and assist health and social care staff and housing staff with advice and knowledge of Telecare aids to achieve the best outcome for the service user. Other duties include: Providing Telecare training in conjunction with the Fire Safety Service to Health and Social work staff; Responsibility for managing staff and providing formal supervision; Ensuring all records are fully documented in accordance with agreed procedures and; Providing cover for the MECS Supervisor and the Resource Unit Supervisor outside normal shift patterns/

Essential criteria

Essential requirements for this role are: Educated to SCQF Level 6, which includes Highers or SVQ3 in Social Care or equivalent; Supervisory/management certificate at Level 7/SVQ4 or working towards; Significant experience in a relevant setting; Management experience in a care service/setting; Ability to provide a regular and effective service; Ability to undertake designated training and put new skills into practice; Ability to travel throughout Fife using Council vehicles (Driving licence); Knowledge of Fife Health and Social Care Partnership; Experience of carrying out risk assessments; Leadership skills; Report writing skills; Manual handling qualification; IT skills; Team working skills; Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary setting to achieve common goals; Knowledge of a range of equipment i.e. slings, sliding sheets, Telecare devices, Vehicle trackers and; Ability to work shifts across a 7 day period.

Desirable criteria

Desirable requirements for this role are: Experience of contributing to local budgets; Knowledge of the value of performance management/monitoring and; Ability to work independently and take responsibility for the Care at Home Service/Community Alarm team outwith Office hours.

Additional information

Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland. If you are eligible to apply to register with the Scottish Social Services Council and you do not currently hold all the required qualifications you can still be granted registration subject to the condition that you must achieve the required qualifications within your first period of registration.
