Job description

West Lothian Council are seeking a full time Mental Health Care Worker on a full time permanent basis. The post holder will be based in Burngrange Residential Home in West Calder, working 36 hours per week on a rotational shift system with a 14% shift allowance.


The purpose of this role is to provide care and support to frail older people and those with a mental health condition. The post holder will additionally carry out RMN nursing duties as required as well as undertaking assessments, compiling care plans and participating in reviews (some of which will be multi-disciplinary).

Essential criteria

In order to carry out this post candidates must be a Registered Mental Nurse and be qualified to or experienced in dealing with older people with severe and enduring mental health conditions. Other essential attributes include good numeracy skills, effective communication skills and the ability to work in a confidential environment.
